Kristin & Mark: The Flowers

ClarksvilleBrides.com Featured Wedding: Kristin & Mark

"Kristin and her mom came to the florist more than a year before her October 8, 2011 wedding to let me begin planning her flowers. However, really the plans were all hers!! Kristin knew colors and flowers and centerpieces and every detail she wanted and it was certainly our pleasure to procure, design and deliver wonderful bouquets.

Kristin's matron of honor and bridesmaids carried large bouquets handtied in champagne ribbon with Vermeer and BlackStar calla lilies that are white with an eggplant center and solid eggplant color. To complement the lilies were lavender roses, white mums and cream hypericum berries.

At the church, we covered a large "K" and "M" in moss to hang with white satin from the inside church doors.

For the church pews, we covered oasis wreaths in moss, white spray roses, hydrangea and baby's breath and attached them with white satin ribbon.

For the church altar, Kristin and Mark brought to the florist a huge birdcage for us to fill with candlesticks, candles and flowers. Lining the bottom of the cage with oasis and opening the doors of the cage, we were able to fill the bottom with flowers and they spilled out from the front and sides. Roses, hydrangea, lilies, mums, stock, grass, seeded eucalyptus, Italian ruscus and hypericum berries gave a lush, garden focal point in the church.

At the Clarksville Country Club for the reception, Kristin carried the "love birds" theme into her table designs. Bringing to the florist 47 birdcages in a variety of sizes, she wanted those filled with candles and flowers also. We began weeks before the wedding by lining the bottoms of the cages with moss and placing inside more than 100 glittered and iced mechanical candles in three sizes. We could also work in the weeks ahead by placing dried cream and purple hydrangea, burgundy cockscomb and little birds, butterflies and bird's nests in and on the cages. Two days before the wedding, by using oasis igloos and wreaths we added again a multitude of fresh flowers to create a lush, garden scene on each of the reception tables. We used cream and blush roses, burgundy and white cushion and spider mums, white mini roses, calla lilies and hypericum berries with galax leaves and grass inside and outside of each cage. By adding satin ribbons and raffia ribbon to match the table linens, the effect was spectacular!!" -Helen Morris, Helen's Flowers

Jennifer & Gavin: The Flowers

ClarksvilleBrides.com Featured Wedding: Jennifer & Gavin

Jennifer & Gavin chose Helen's Flowers to create their wedding day floral arrangements. "Jennifer chose the traditional wedding color, white, and worked it into every bouquet, boutonniere, corsage and mass flower design. Yet she also wanted to use the rich, dark colors of eggplant and purple so we combined the two for a truly unique, creative color scheme for her September 17th wedding at Forest Street Methodist Church and reception following at Water Street Event Center.

Jennifer's bouquet was a tight, rounded mass of white spiders, green buttons, eggplant calla lilies, white hybrid lilies, purple stock and dark purple hydrangeas and veronica rimmed with galax leaves and hand-tied with white satin ribbon.

She carried that theme forward in her bridesmaid's bouquets of white lilies and purple stock. They were hand-tied in eggplant satin ribbon to match the girl's eggplant-colored dresses.

Forest Street Methodist Church is a small, but sweet, church compared to most. So the two mass designs that we placed on the altar filled the area where the bride and groom took their vows. They stood in cream-colored urns on white pedestals with curly willow reaching to the sky. Again, white hydrangea, white stock, and white roses were accented with purple stock, larkspur and green spiders. Going to the reception guests were greeted by tall white table designs in all white stock, larkspur, spiders, roses, snapdragons and hydrangea but with the addition of large
white feather plumes! They were sassy and had a very festive flair to them atop glass containers.

It is always a pleasure to work with young women who have their own unique style and want you to show their creativity for them on their most special day. Women should never be afraid to choose their favorite mementos, dress or combination of colors to create wedding day memories that will last forever." -Helen Morris, Helen's Flowers

Jenna & Sean: The Flowers

Today we're sharing floral details from our current ClarksvilleBrides.com Featured Wedding by Katie Wright Photography. Jenna & Sean chose Helen's Flowers to create their wedding day floral arrangements and they did an amazing job!

"The pleasure was all ours in working with Jenna Atkins for her wedding on June 18th. Jenna wanted large white hydrangeas, peonies, roses and cymbidium white orchids for her bouquet. It was handtied in cream satin ribbon and pinned with a cameo brooch for a personal touch. Her bridesmaid's bouquets were blush and fuchsia peonies handtied with springmoss satin ribbon.

The main altar at Madison Street Methodist church is a large 90" wide and 20" deep table that will accommodate a wonderful design for the focalpoint of the wedding. Jenna chose a wealth of fresh flowers for this design in white and pink. We used hydrangeas, lilies, peonies, larkspur, snapdragons, roses and stock to create a lush compliment to the church surroundings. In a trumpet vase we also placed a memorial design on the altar of similar fresh flowers. Jenna also used our candle lanterns at the altar and we attached fresh flowers to them to compliment the main design.

All the tables at the reception held fresh flowers. Jenna chose tall vases of curly willow, bells of Ireland, hydrangeas and lilies for some tables and on the remaining tables she wanted low cube containers to contain a mass of snapdragons and looped bear grass. Jenna chose fuchsia and shades of pink for the snapdragon colors and they were stunning. The overall feel of the wedding was classic, bountiful garden." -Helen's Flowers
