Melanie and Cody hired Visions by Debra to help plan and coordinate their wedding day. "Mel and Cody absolutely knew what they wanted their wedding to look like. The couple wanted an elegant atmosphere with tasteful touches of vintage and rustic elements. The couple’s five tier wedding cake was displayed on rustic barrels, the same were used to set up a s'mores bar for the guests and the barrels were used in the ceremony area. Leah Jo & Tim: The Coordinator

Leah Jo and Tim hired Debra Harris of Visions by Debra to coordinate their wedding day. "Leah Jo and Tim's wedding was rich with Irish Tradition. The most important element in the couple's wedding was to include their guests in as many facets of the celebration as possible. Beginning with the day it was held, St. Patrick's Day. The guests were invited to sample the local flavor, they were greeted with Welcome Bags at their check in at the hotel, filled with information on the area and items to refresh them from their long journey. (The Welcome Bags design mimicked the couple's wedding invitations.) Local wines from Beachaven Vineyard were offered to the guests at the couple's rehearsal dinner.

Kilts were the order of the day for the groom, his merry men, and several of the male guests. The bride and her maids incorporated the theme in the styling of their hair. Tucked away in the bride's bouquet was a horseshoe for luck. The guests were handed bells to be rung when the couple were pronounced man and wife. The ceremony in keeping with Celtic tradition included a hand fastening ceremony.

 At the reception each guest table included an Irish blessing to be read during the toasts by a representative from each table, there was a wishing tree which guests wrote their advise for a long and happy marriage, which were written on, you guessed it, four leaf clovers. If you're not sure what to do with the disposable cameras, try taking your lead from our couple: make it a scavenger hunt. Guests were provided a camera and a list of pictures to be taken over the course of the reception. Even the menu reflected the theme offering Sheppard's pie, bangers and mash, etc. The couple's wedding cake reflected the colors and lay out of their invitations. Away was the traditional parent's dance as the couple each danced with their Mothers simultaneously." -Debra Harris, Visions by Debra

Gown Shoot: The Planner

Happy June! Today we're wrapping up our coverage of the newest ClarksvilleBrides.com gown shoot by Katie Wright Photography. Debra Harris, of Visions by Debra, coordinated (and modeled for) the fabulous new shoot. We were short on models and Debra volunteered herself (see photo to left) to help out the shoot any way she could! "I was so honored to be asked to do a gown shoot for Clarksville Brides. I had the chance to work with local vendors in the area to showcase all of our services. Debra Harris of Visions by Debra helped organize the shoot at Ms. Ann’s Teahouse in Hopkinsville. Special Occasions supplied wedding dresses, mother of the bride dresses, and a fun yellow bridesmaid dress. Lauren & Alex: The Planner

We're sharing more details from our current ClarksvilleBrides.com Featured Wedding this week. Lauren & Alex chose Debra Harris of Visions by Debra to help plan and coordinate their wedding day. "This was a wonderful wedding, there were over 340 guests attending. The bride's mom was the master mind behind a lot of the special touches, 2 montages were played during the ceremony. A third was played showcasing the couple as they were growing up during their first dance. Ms. Ahart had a clear vision for her daughter's wedding. Instead of doing the father/daughter, mother/ son dance the couple had a parent's dance. The bride danced with her dad and the groom danced with his mom; in the middle of the song the remaining parents cut in and each couple were dancing with their mate. This wedding is a great example of how small touches make a great impact. The favors were a variety of items and there were bags, decorated with the couple's names and date on them. The guests chose their favorite items as a parting gift. There were purple rose balls suspended from draped ceilings, lots and lots of candles and beautiful centerpieces. The wedding cake was stationed in the middle of the buffet area for all to see. The groom's cake was his favorite college, UK. Flowers were placed in the women's bathrooms and special hand towels were available for the guests." -Debra Harris, Visions by Debra
