Pre-registration for the Clarksville Brides Wedding & Event Showcase will close tomorrow, Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 6 pm!

The bridal show is THIS Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center from 12 pm - 4 pm. The showcase will be emceed by We Bring the Party Events and will feature live performances by Brio, a fitness demo by Boot Camp Challenge, and a fashion show featuring gowns and formal wear from Wedding Belles, Men's Warehouse, and Special Occasions Plus Bridal. And, as always, we'll be bringing you our signature event, the Cake Dive! One lucky bride will leave the showcase with a diamond pendant courtesy of McKenzie & Smiley Jewelers!

Ch-Ch-Changes

We've got some new "stuff" (for lack of a better word) goin' down on the ClarksvilleBrides.com site! Venues have been split into 2 categories: Tennessee and Kentucky. For all you brides-to-be out there, be sure to check out both sections of the site. We have SO many amazing bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception venue options, so don't let state lines be your boundaries. :)

Cakes and Catering have also parted ways (no hard feelings). :) One of our newest website members, Ms. Ann's Restaurant and TeaHouse, not only offers delicious catering at their venue, but will also deliver to your venue!

We've also posted a new featured wedding - click here to check it out - Ryan & Joann had a ClarksvilleBrides.com member-packed wedding last fall and we'll be blogging about all of the details next month.

Bridal Fest Recap

Yesterday, we stopped by Bridal Fest, a bridal show in Bowling Green, to visit a couple of our local vendors, Covered with Icing and Yaya's Cake Shoppe. Both of their booths were LOADED with delicious samples!




Gayle Howard, of Yaya's Cake Shoppe, made some oh-so-adorable mini cupcakes, displayed on a beautiful tiered cupcake stand. She also brought some gorgeous examples of her wedding cake designs, including this beauty that I just had to post! (photo to left)

We then headed over to visit Heather Noble in her Covered with Icing booth.

Heather brought some yummy cake samples and, my personal favorite, cake truffles! I thought this was just the coolest thing (photo to right) - what an awesome idea for centerpieces! Guests can have a beautiful display, as well as a delicious dessert, right at their table!

Cake, anyone?

Sunday/TOMORROW :) there's a bridal show in Bowling Green, KY, Bridal Fest 2011. While this isn't necessarily a local event, it is going to feature some local vendors. Two of our top cake decorators, Covered with Icing and Yaya'a Cake Shoppe, will both have booths at the show.

The best thing about a cake booth has to be the cake! Covered with Icing will be bringing Pink Champagne cake (HUGE hit at the Clarksville bridal show), Spice cake, Traditional White and Chocolate Cappuccino! Brides should "stop by my booth to sign in for a chance at drawing for a gift certificate towards $50 off their cake order and see some new color trends for 2011."

Yaya'a Cake Shoppe will be bringing mini cupcakes (adorable!), featuring a variety of flavors. "I am taking chocolate cupcakes filled with chocolate ganache, Strawberry with cream cheese icing, Red velvet with cream cheese icing, white cake filled with raspberry and lemon with lemon filling and butter cream icing."
