Stephanie & Kinley: The Venue

Stephanie and Kinley held their ceremony at Sugar Grove Carriage House in Oak Grove, Kentucky. Stephanie and her bridesmaids got ready in the main residence, while Kinley and his groomsmen prepared for the wedding in the Guest House. Stephanie took advantage of Sugar Grove's horse and carriage rides and rode into her ceremony on the carriage. They had their ceremony on the pergola grounds, using the brick, outdoor fireplace as the backdrop. Even though it was sprinkling, it was still the perfect venue for their wedding ceremony. Sugar Grove is located in the middle of a farm, surrounded by farm crops, which was the perfect, scenic backdrop for Stephanie and Kinley's beautiful wedding ceremony.

Michelle & Shane: The Venue

Michelle and Shane got married at Sugar Grove Carriage House in Oak Grove, Kentucky. "Our wedding package includes two days, the use of all the grounds, the pergola's outdoor wedding circle and the Carriage House which also has a large new open air covered porch area that is great for the wedding dance...We continue to offer horse and carriage rides for the bride and groom for entrance and exit into the ceremonies or however they desire to apply it. We have tables and chairs for 170 guests and provide the white table cloths with a small laundry fee. Our venue is in the middle of our farm with farm crops all around us, giving it a charming quiet and scenic view well off the road. There is ample parking in front of the farm residence with only a short walk to the wedding area. We are located convienantly between Hopkinsville and Clarksville and Ft. Campbell and to the I-24 Interstate and the hotels at that exit...We are retired farmers and enjoy using our farm grounds now to share with others who desire an outdoor or barn setting for their special wedding day...We offer tours for those who wish to come and preview our Sugar Grove grounds." -Glenda Jacobs, Sugar Grove Carriage House

The Carriage House
Sugar Grove Carriage House offers a variety of facilities and amenities including the Tiny Garden Guest House (aka Barber Shop Cottage), the home residence (available for small formal luncheons or tea’s), the Pergola Garden grounds with outdoor fireplace, walking trails around the farm, horse and carriage rides, etc, but today we're featuring the Carriage House itself.
"The Carriage House is a one and a half story Gambrel style barn that has the additional charm of large colorful antique cathedral stained glass windows. The open rafters welcome your special lighting treatments and the three 8 to 10 foot door openings let in the spectacular view of the farm and overlooking surrounding farm fields and horse pastures.

A Sugar Grove Wedding

Forever ago (September), I shot my first HD wedding at Sugar Grove Carriage House in Oak Grove, Kentucky. We had just made the switch from standard to HD and I was looking for a nice, happy couple to help me try out the new high def equipment. A photog friend of mine, we'll call her "Bethany", had the PERFECT couple! She was already capturing their wedding day - photo style - and thought they'd be the perfect couple for a free HD video. Not only were they fun and nice, but I also happen to share a last name with the groom, so I'm pretty sure it was fate!
The couple's ceremony and reception venue was Sugar Grove Carriage House. "Present day 'Sugar Grove', nestled in the beautiful rolling open fields of southern Kentucky, offers a unique blend of rustic charm and elegance for your special event. Their website blurb (above) does not lie! The ride up Sugar Grove's driveway to the venue is gorgeous! Ponds, horses, and acres upon acres of beautiful farmland surround the location, and I loved every bit of it. I met Bethany Ann Photography at Sugar Grove that afternoon and we had such a great time capturing James & Andrea's wedding day at such a perfect venue.
